In my environment, your new version of utilities was executed without
problems: The quotation was displayed in the mode-line, and the author name
was also correctely displayed.

  # I altered the source tlg-util.el, according to your indication.

I am grateful for your so rapid development.

May I say one thing?

When the cursor is located to the line without quotaion, 

         nil*nil*nil*nil*nil*nil

is displayed in the mode line. But it may be surprising a little bit.
The content of nil in the variables may be better altered to some other
character. Is it possible?
